A lazy sunrise scrambles as it makes its way to the top of the cotton candy skies. The black silhouettes of scattered bony palm trees begin to show shades of green under the morning rays. Somewhere in the distance, the sound of a waterfall grazes the palette of your ears. A peach colored cloud hangs above the infinity pool, unaccompanied. Your day is just about to begin, and you already realize that you never want to leave.
Allow me to give you a warm welcome to The Viceroy Bali – a luxury hideaway known to many as one of the world’s most extravagant private locations.
The Room.
The property of The Viceroy Bali consists of ultra private luxury villas – each one includes a heated pool situated on a large private deck. A spacious balinese pavilion rests a few feet above the heated pool, offering a comfortable and unique place to eat and relax with a glass of wine.
I stayed at the Deluxe Terrace Villa. Even the smallest aspects of the room were planned with me in mind. From the flowers carefully positioned in all the right places, to the sweet scents in every corner – I was appalled by the hospitality. I was reminded to be happy, everywhere I looked.
The Property.
Needless to say, the property is huge ! One of my favorite things to do was to wake up early and walk around the area while everyone was still sleeping. And of course, watching the sunset dip into the infinity pool was an unforgettable sight to see. Conveniently located next to the pool and fully equipped gym, was a changing room. I am really big on hospitality and the staff members at The Viceroy Bali were absolutely phenomenal. Wherever you are, you can pretty much request anything.
The Spa.
The Lembah Spa on The Viceroy Bali property shows off some of the most spectacular views of the Petanu River Valley. This was an ultra relaxing time. Bali really helped me find inner peace within myself. I read a multitude of blogs where people wrote the latter, and I finally understand why. Experiences like the one I had at the spa helped me get in touch with myself. I found so much happiness in simply being still and quiet for a long period of time. And the flower petal bath was my favorite !
The Restaurant.
I was very lucky to experience the cuisine of the CasCades Restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. One of my favorite meals was the rice congee for breakfast and for dinner the seared duck was absolutely to die for.
I fell in love with Bali so much more thanks to my experience at The Viceroy Bali. From the privacy of a large villa, to the beauty of the public property – this is the place to be for the utmost relaxation. Even if it’s just for one night, The Viceroy Bali should be an absolute must on your list of places to visit / stay at in Bali.
Overall, my trip was phenomenal. In just four days, my entire perspective on life has changed. A relatively poor island, Bali is actually home to some of the happiest people I have ever met in my entire life. Everything is quite simple, but the happiness of the people is quite intricate and abstruse – a mixture of religion, lifestyle, and the environment itself. One of the most important lessons I took with me is to put less value on materialist things and to really dedicate my life to experiencing more cultures, cuisines, religions, and places. Thank You to everyone at The Viceroy, and more importantly Thank You to everyone in Bali. Namaste.
We celebrated birthday of my friend here. The Viceroy cooked for us very delicious and exquisite dishes. Everything was amazing! Thank you to all people in this hotel, who did our celebration unforgettable!
